Designed for the measurement of trace moisture in process gases and dry compressed air.
The AcuDew dewpoint transmitter is fully compatible with the following range of single channel displays:
- AcuLoop, a plug in signal indicator for local display
- The panel mount AcuVu with 4-20 mA signal retransmission and fully programmable alarms
- The AcuTrak with additional onboard pressure dewpoint calculation capability and RS485 communications
- The SU4 sample system
The SHAW AcuDew is a high performance dewpoint transmitter that delivers robust and reliable operation as a 2-wire, 4-20 mA loop-powered device. Using ultra high capacitance SHAW moisture sensing technology, the AcuDew ensures superior sensitivity, accuracy, repeatability and speed of response.
Additionally, this dewpoint transmitter features the SHAW AutoCal function, enabling users to check and adjust the instrument’s span to correct for any deviation between annual laboratory calibrations. You can perform AutoCal on dewpoint instruments in situ, without needing skilled personnel or specialised equipment.
AcuDew offers various dewpoint measurement ranges, covering -120 °C to +20 °C (-184 °F to +68 °F), with configurable output units in °C dewpoint, °F dewpoint, ppm(V), ppb(V), g/m³ and lb/MMSCF. Furthermore, the durable stainless-steel design includes an industrial M12 connector, which reduces setup time and simplifies installation and maintenance for wiring systems. SHAW engineered the dewpoint transmitter to perform in extreme environmental and industrial conditions, providing an IP66 (NEMA 4X) protection rating.
The AcuDew dewpoint transmitter is also available with Modbus RTU Serial Line RS485 digital communication.
In terms of signal output. AcuDew provides a linear, 4–20 mA signal over the selected range and operates from a 7–28 V DC source (including a 24 V option). For installation in remote locations, the 4–20 mA signal excels at transmitting data over long distances (up to 1,000 metres or 3,280 feet) without degradation. It also withstands electrical noise and simplifies fault detection if the loop breaks.
You can directly install the AcuDew in the process line or integrate it into a sample conditioning system. As a result, the operation is simple, with minimal maintenance required. SHAW tests each dewpoint transmitter to withstand pressures up to 35,000kPa (350 bar) and enables direct pipeline connection. The device requires no user operated controls during use, ensuring long term unattended operation.
Finally, each AcuDew dewpoint transmitter arrives ready for immediate use, complete with a Certificate of Calibration traceable to National and International Humidity Standards, an instruction manual and two metres of cable.
